Welcome to Budding Floral Designs, a full service flower shop, creating floral gorgeousness for all occasions from the cradle to the grave based on a cosy corner in the village of Anstey, Leicester. With over 60 years of combined experience, we are passionate and knowledgeable about our trade and feel honoured to serve the community of Anstey and the surrounding villages for all of their floral requirements.

Our owner, Claire, has been creating beautiful flower arrangements for as long as she can remember, recalling coming home from primary school and sitting on the counter helping make bows for bouquets. With a surname like Budding (yep — no kidding), it’s in the blood. Her work has been featured in many local publications including Leicestershire Weddings Magazine, Your East Midlands Wedding Magazine and The Beacon Magazine. We have also had our floral designs featured across multiple blogs, are recommended suppliers for several local venues and other businesses and have worked hard to build a loyal client base over the years.

Budding Floral Designs was born from Claire’s love of floristry, encouraged by her parents who previously owned Brookside Nurseries, a Garden Centre and Florist in Anstey. In August 2016, after nearly 40 years of dedication, they closed the doors for retirement. Keen to keep the established flower side of Brookside local within the village, it was the ideal opportunity for Claire to merge the floristry side of their business with her own. In April 2016, Budding Floral Designs moved from a draughty workshop into a bright and airy shop in The Nook at the heart of the centre of Anstey.

Over the years we have evolved from just the one body in the shop into a busy, close-knit team with extra helping hands during our busiest times. Occasionally Claire’s bearded collie, Luna, joins us as shop dog, snoozing in the back room. We are a friendly bunch who love creating and feel lucky to do something we truly enjoy.
